2025 Concerts Culinaires - Fourth edition of the Concerts Culinaires in Vevey

Press Release 29.04.2025

“BOOGIE-WOOGIE BEETHOVEN": MUSIC, WINE, GASTRONOMY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE.

Chardonne, 29. April 2025 - IamBacchus.com and the Société de développement de Chardonne - Mt. Pèlerin are proud to present the 4th edition of the Concerts Culinaires, an exceptional event combining the best of music, wine, gastronomy and patrimony, in partnership with the Maison Obrist and the restaurant À la Demi- Lune. Based on the success of prior Concerts Culinaires, the concert will take place in the elegant and historic Grande Salle del Castillo in Vevey on September 7, from 5pm to 8pm.

John Axelrod, founder and artistic director of the Culinary Concerts, invites the public on an exceptional sensory journey, where wine and music come together to highlight the history and terroir of Chardonne - Mont-Pèlerin. A resident of Chardonne, the conductor is known for his extensive repertoire, innovative programming, and charismatic presence.

The program features a unique performance by LadyVa, queen of boogie-woogie, who will revisit Beethoven and rock 'n' roll legends. Renowned for her virtuoso, charisma and energetic playing, Swiss pianist and composer LadyVa has won several awards and performs regularly on prestigious stages throughout Europe. Her style, which combines tradition and modernity, makes her one of the leading figures of the boogie-woogie style.

Music and gastronomy in perfect harmony: A proven concept

The Concerts Culinaires invite their audience to enjoy an immersive sensory experience, and to savor each note. To delight the taste buds, a selection of refined hors d'oeuvres will be offered by restaurateur Philippe Verdan and his team at the À la Demi-Lune restaurant in Chardonne. His bold and flavorful cuisine has earned him a score of 13/20 in the Gault & Millau guide. His gourmet hors d'oeuvres will be accompanied by a wine tasting offered by Jacques de Simone, director of Maison Obrist, whose Premier Grand Cru du Château de Chardonne will delight and compliment the gourmet appetizers.

This event will showcase the wine-growing and cultural heritage of Chardonne, whose vineyard, Château de Chardonne, has been part of the very select circle of Vaud Premiers Grands Crus since the 2011 vintage. In partnership with the Société de développement de Chardonne - Mt. Pèlerin, the funds raised will be used to promote local heritage.

Join us on September 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Salle del Castillo in Vevey for the dégustation and concert. Then head to Chardonne, via the famous funicular joining Vevey to Mt. Pèlerin, where the post concert dinner with the artist and winemaker will continue in harmony with fine food and music at the restaurant À la Demi-Lune. Places are limited, so don't miss this unique opportunity to be carried away by the rhythms of boogie-woogie while savoring the gastronomic and wine riches of the Lavaux. The menu for both the dégustation and dinner, thematically based on both Beethoven and Boogie-Woogie to be announced.
