Already the Greek philosophers questioned the meaning of life before everything else. Also for companies, values and meanings have been relatively intrinsic, simple concepts until about 100 years ago. With the argument of "increasing promises" the marketing machine always ran freshly and smoothly. However, this model does no longer work. Hyper connectivity and the breakdown of traditional value chains leaves companies and their brands increasingly faced with existential challenges.
